Crowns and Parts:
Very few people order full parts anymore. A full part is a sharp, clearly defined line where bare scalp is visible. Most people order a left, right or center crown. A crown is also called a "break" or a "diffused part". When you order a crown, the hair direction naturally separates so that the hair above the crown can be styled forward, back or to the side.

Ventilation Options: (ventilation is the industry term for knotting hairs into hairpiece bases – and no, I have no idea why they call it that)
Freestyle:

Freestyle is just what the name implies. It has a center crown of sorts, so you have the freedom to style your hair however you choose: Comb it back, comb it down, comb it to the side, or even change your style or the location of your part from day to day. |
Brushback:
Brushback allows you to comb your hair back and expose your hairline. It also gives some lift to the hair so that it doesn’t lie flat against your scalp. Brushback is the best choice for a spiky style.
Flatback:

Flatback is knotted so that your hair lies close to your scalp. It’s excellent for a very short style or a “wet look” style. |
Pompadour:
Pompadour gives the maximum lift to your hair. If you like a flamboyant comb-back style, especially with longer hair, pompadour is the way to go.
